Huntik Episode New Mission

Begoña Zuber

Begoña Zubero Apodaca is a Basque photographer (born in 1962 in Bilbao) for which the Man is the protagonist of many of his works, although most are absent. His photographs are quiet and haunting.

Biography

  • studied Sciences Specialty Information Image and Sound in Complutense University of Madrid.
  • later moved to New York where he studied photography at the School of Visual Arts and where he lived and worked for four years.
  • worked in still life, first found, then mounted a surreal and abstract time, before going on to try to capture the human footprint without showing explicitly.
  • currently lives and works in Bilbao.
  • has taught photography workshops collaborations with museums like the Urban Photography Workshop for Open City Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao en 2002.
  • Ha participado en el programa “ Aprendiendo a través del Arte ” impartiendo talleres en la Public School 128 de Queens, Nueva York y en la Public School 25 , Harlem, Nueva York para el Museo Guggenheim .
  • Ha impartido un taller de foto-serigrafía en el Museo Guggenheim Bilbao con motivo de la exposición retrospectiva de Robert Rauchenberg .
  • Desde los años 80 ha realizado numerosas exposiciones individuales y colectivas. Por ejemplo España en Roma , en el Instituto Cervantes de Rome in 2003 or North by North for the 4th Floor Gallery in Manchester in 2001.

  • His work is in collections as Library Foundation Ordoñez Falco, Artium Museum Foundation of Vitoria-Gasteiz , Zarautz Photomuseum , Colección Caja Vital, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Bilbao Art Foundation, Library Assembly of Biscay, Civico Museo Irpino, Balatia, Italy and Basque Collection and private collections.
  • In 2006 he received the International Award in Photography Citoler Pilar Cordoba.
